Residence Inn by Marriott Decatur Emory Area

We stayed there for two weeks and we had a good experience overall. pros Convenient location. Close to downtown Decatur, right by eateries and grocery stores. The rooms are quite big and comfortable. Daily breakfast with lots of options to choose from Super nice and friendly staff Easy in and out access. Elevator access thru the parking lot Cons Not in a walkable area. You can walk to nearby restaurants but there are no sidewalks The hotel is dog friendly. That’s not a con, but the corridors are not properly cleaned and they smell like dog and dog pee. Staff tries to air them out with air purifiers but that’s not enough

I only stayed 1 night but want to mention the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Both young men (during check-in & check-out) were great. Room/bathroom were clean and everything worked properly (ie. Sink, shower head, etc). The complimentary breakfast was decent. I grabbed a breakfast sandwich (ham/egg/cheese)…it came in a sealed plastic bag that was heated. I had never seen that before, but it was actually pretty good for something quick to eat. Other offerings were available (scrambled eggs, sausage, bananas, milk, coffee). A side benefit is that this specific hotel is next door to a CVS. Just be aware that this hotel charges $15 a day for parking…they will roll the charge into your bill if you request.

Highly recommend this hotel, great location, and fantastic service. The rooms are spacious and fully functional, including the kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, and kitchen utensils. They offer complimentary on-site breakfast. Please check the hotel for hours as it varies from weekdays to weekend. Large garage parking available, fee does apply. They have a fitness center and also on-site laundry. This was my first time staying there and definitely will return. If you are a Marriott member, it is a Marriott property ! Don't forget to get your points. The staff was delightful and very helpful, attentive during the breakfast rush, and giving them 5 stars for cleanliness. This is my second time returning because the service was great. The hotel is located near many of the places I am visiting for this short weekend trip.

Very nice hotel. Everything was clean and the staff was welcoming. I definitely recommend and I plan on staying here again when I’m in the Atlanta area.

August 2025 Likely the best Residence Inn in the area despite a few missing items, especially against those in the downtown/midtown of Atlanta. Courteous counter folks (Laurie) attentive to patrons needs! July 2925 Recently built hotel with clean and functional rooms and good parking! I would definitely consider coming back here in the future. A few areas of improvement: (1) limited breakfast options, especially items with low sugar/carb contents, (2) foam pillows were never provided despite 2-3 requests, and (3) no safe in the room.

Delta overbooked our hotel room here, as like many others. Grace was super helpful in helping us call around to other hotels to see if anyone else had any rooms. She even tried to find dirty rooms to clean real quick to get another room ready. Unfortunately we were not able to find any available hotels that Delta would reimburse. Grace and other employees helped pass out blankets and pillows for us to sleep in the lobby comfortably. Even in the morning, they offered us toothbrushes and hot chocolate or coffee. Although we weren’t able to get a room there, the staff there were super helpful and caring. I can say if you do book with this hotel, your needs will definitely be fulfilled. We need more people like that in this world.

This hotel is in a very convenient location, with a CVS right next door (i.e. 2 minute walk), and a whole foods that is within a 5 minute walk as well. The rooms are spacious and new/in good condition. They come equipped with a kitchenette, which is super helpful for longer stays. The daily breakfast was also a plus. Whilst the selection is arguably a bit limited (cooked option includes scrambled eggs with sausages plus one more carb dish, as well as oats/porridge), it worked fine for my one week stay. The salsa is a plus, as I liked to add that to my scrambled eggs each morning. There’s also cereal, yogurt, fruit (usually bananas and apples), and a toaster with bagels and toast. Usual juice options as well as ample coffee. The most impressive thing about this hotel for me were the staff. Everyone was so friendly and proactively helpful. I stayed at this hotel for one week along with my elderly mom and elderly aunts and uncles, as we were in town to attend a funeral for my uncle. Special shout out to Laurie, who was simply amazing. She was empathetic, always greeted us with a smile and went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. Thank you!
